MG&A; Pet owner research: Is profit driving the advice your vet gives you?
Now in December, our thoughts turn to the huge expense of Christmas and what it will do to our bank balance for the next few months.
With money in mind, we wondered to what extent owners feel that profit drives treatment recommendations by their vet / vet practice.
MG&A asked; When recommending treatment or advice to you as a dog owner, do you feel that your vet / vet practice:
1. Does NOT take their profit into account AT ALL when recommending or advising you
2. Takes their profit into account BUT ONLY TO A SMALL DEGREE
3. Takes their profit into account TO A SIGNIFICANT DEGREE
4. TOTALLY takes their profit into account when recommending or advising you
Results
A third (37%) felt that profit was taken in to account to at least a significant degree, almost a half (46%) to only a small degree and just under a fifth (17%) not at all.
About the sample
