MG&A: Veterinary market research: Was your dog in good health when you got it?

The Kennel Club, www.thekennelclub.org.uk, has welcomed a consultation by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) about a ban on the practice of selling puppies via third parties as a crucial step forward to tackle the cruel puppy farming industry. Concerned about this issue and, by association, the health and welfare of the dogs we acquire, in a recent online survey conducted by MG&A, we asked 200 dog owners:

“When you got your dog, what state of health would you say they were in?”

    Results

Sadly, only just over half (58%) said that their dog was in excellent health when they got it.

For further details, please contact MG&A and we will be delighted to send you the full analysis on this question for free.

Of course, if you would like to discuss the possibility of conducting your own bespoke survey, we’d also love to hear from you.
